3G Network

Мрежата за данни е индикирана на дисплея на телефона под формата на буква или комбинация от символи, като те могат да се различават в зависимост от фабричната настойка от производителя на устройството. Те биват:
• G – връзката е през GPRS мрежа за данни (най-базовата версия на 2G технология)
•E – връзкатa е през EDGE
•3G – връзката е през 3G/UMTS
•H – връзката е през HSDPA
•H+ - връзката е през DC-HSDPA (най-бързата връзка, поддържана от 3G мрежата на Yettel
•4G (или LTE) – връзката е през 4G/LTE
•4G+ или LTE-A –връзката е през 4.5G/LTE-Advanced (на някои телефони тази индикация може да липсва дори и при осъществена връзка през тази функционалност)

3G (from engl. 3rd Generation) is a common term for the newer generation mobile networks. The networks from the first generation – 1G are analog, 2G networks are digital, and 3G are networks from third generation for newer, high-speed products and services. 3G based technologies make faster data transfers possible, in comparison with GSM/GPRS network.

To use services via Yettel’s 3G network, you need a 3G mobile or a 3G Yettel Connect Center (a device for mobile Internet) and a computer. If you have a 3G mobile and you are in an area with 3G coverage, you can automatically connect to the 3G network. A 3G indicator will appear on your handset.

Opportunity for very fast Internet access and data exchange, as well as various multimedia services, which were not possible with the previous speed of mobile networks.

The maximum download speed in the UMTS/HSPA network is up to 21 Mbps; the maximum upload speed is 5.76 Mbps.

After successfully completed tests, Yettel will be the first Bulgarian mobile operator to offer data transfer speed of up to 21 Mbps in its 3G network via the High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) technology. This is two times faster than the maximum speed offered by the other mobile networks in the country.

UMTS/HSPA+, or the so-called 3G+ (Super 3G), offers also speed of over 40 Mbps for download and over 10 Mbps for upload.

As the 3G mobiles offered by Yettel work not only with 3G networks, but also with 2G, in fact you will not notice a difference in your connection. If you are having a conversation in an area with 3G coverage while on the move, your conversation will not be interrupted or disturbed even if you enter an area without 3G coverage. The 2G network is able to maintain the data transfer, which is offered by the 3G network.
