How does it work

You don't need any additional equipment to send a short message.

Check the Message Center Number

Here is what you have to do: Select Menu and then Messages; select Message Settings and then - Default profile. You will see the Message Center Number

on the phone's display. If this number is not displayed, you have to enter it. Press OK to store it.

Now you can send short messages.

You only need to follow a few steps:
• enter the Menu
• select the Messages option, then
• select Write Messages
• enter the text and press Send.

A phone number request will be displayed on the screen; enter the message recipient's phone number and press Send Message (OK or Send).

If you want to send a short message to an international network's user, enter the phone number in international format.

When you send a short message, depending on your mobile phone settings, you will receive a transmission report notifying you whether your message has reached its recipient or not.

In order to read a received short message:

• enter the Menu,
• select the Messages option, next,
• Read Message or Inbox, then select the new short message and open it.

After reading it, you can either delete it or save it on your SIM card. You will be notified when you receive a short message, depending on your mobile phone settings.

Your handset and SIM card can store limited number text messages. If the limit is reached, new text messages will be stored at the SMS centre, until there is enough space, but no longer than 5 days.

How do I get the service

Telenor provides Short Message service automatically upon registration.

Note: This service (both receiving and sending short messages) can not be deactivated/reactivated on demand.
