05 August 2021Telenor's summer edition of Digital Scouts returns with even more interesting questions about online safety and great prizes
The Digital Scouts app will help children and teenagers with the dangers online this year as well
Telenor Bulgaria will again educate children and young people in digital safety with the Digital Scouts application, part of the Safe Internet program. The summer edition of Digital Scouts, which this year will take place on August 21 and 22, is with a new visual identity, with even higher number of and more interesting questions and many prizes for participants. It will be available completely free of charge in the App Store and Google Play.
The motto of this year's edition "You know before you scroll" reflects the spirit of the campaign, and the application has been completely changed with even more captivating visual elements, inspired by the Japanese manga style.
“With the summer edition of Digital Scouts, we are showing both children and their parents that the Internet can be a safer place if some basic rules are followed. That's why we continue to invest in initiatives that educate teens and give the right advice to tackle online challenges. They are part of our consistent efforts to contribute to a safer Internet” ,said Viliana Staneva, Corporate Communications and CSR Expert at Telenor Bulgaria.
During the third weekend of August (21 and 22 August), everyone who joins the game will have the opportunity to answer 25 questions on each day. Participation in both days of the game will have twice as much chance to win one of the technology prizes, including iPhone 12 5G, wireless headphones Huawei FreeBuds 4i, bracelet XIAOMI Mi Band 5, tablet HUAWEI MatePad T10 32GB, accessories for laptop and much more.
During 2020, the game through the app brought together over 17,000 children who took part in the digital adventure and learned more about the dangers online, as well as what are the ways to deal with them. This year, Telenor Bulgaria upgrades the format with interesting situations, typical for the lives of teenagers and children, thus giving them the opportunity to learn in a fun and interactive way, and for the knowledge to stay with them for a long time.
In addition to the telecom's consistent efforts to educate young people, the telecom also offers solutions that helps for easy browsing on the Internet. Among them is the Online Protect service, which is specially developed by the company to take care of the security of smart devices, to protect them from viruses, phishing, malware, worms, spam, and compromised sites. Through the Parental Control service Telenor helps parents to protect their children from dangers online and to know their location.
The Safer Internet Program includes a wide range of initiatives that reach thousands of children and their parents. The initiative raises awareness of children, parents, and teachers about the risks of using the Internet, social networks and devices, the ways of prevention and seeking help. Through Digital Scouts Telenor provides a positive and safe online environment for children and young people by encouraging and developing their skills to deal with dangers.
