Telenor warns about attempts for fraud

Telenor would like to inform and warn about the numerous recent attempts for defrauding users (phishing) and for fraudulent personal data collection with fake websites and email messages in which Telenor logo and trademarks have been unlawfully used.

Very often, various fraudulent websites disguised as games or polls, promise big rewards to users in exchange for personal data or minimum participation fee.

Telenor advises users not to rely on the well-known brands and logos as a reason to believe these messages authentic and not to take any actions in haste and under the promise of a reward. Users are also advised not to click on any links they get in a text message if they are not sure about the website and do not know and trust the sending party.

Telenor has taken the necessary actions to stop these fraudulent activities and is co-operating with the respective authorities for the apprehension of the perpetrators behind these attempts.
