06 June 2017Telenor received first prize for its environmental policy at the Greenest Companies in Bulgaria Awards
Telenor won the first prize in the Telecommunications category in this year's The Greenest Companies in Bulgaria competition of the b2b Media. The company was awarded for its environmental strategy.
At an official ceremony, the Chair of the Jury and Editor-in-chief of b2b Media, Mrs. Nadia Marinova handed the award to Telenor Corporate Responsibility Expert Mrs. Desislava Danova.
“I am very happy that we are among the companies awarded for their responsible business practices and especially for our environmental activities. They are a long-term commitment of Telenor and this award proves that we are on the right track. Thank you for the acknowledgment,” said Mrs. Danova.
Telenor actively works on environmental protection by organizing regular internal initiatives and trainings which not only contribute to the protection of the environment, but also raise awareness among the employees.
In 2012, the company received an international ISO 14001 standard certification for the implementation of the environmental management system. Telenor fulfils the stated engagements in compliance with the applicable law and constantly improves its management systems.
The "Greenest Companies in Bulgaria" national competition is held for the seventh consecutive year. Its aim is to promote the most interesting "green" ideas and initiatives in the past year as well as to motivate other companies to develop active environmental policy.
